US Marine Corps Enlisted Tank Crewman

The members of the United States Marine Corps MI tank crewmen corps are highly trained and motivated Servicemembers. They work to protect and defend the United States, performing as Tank crewmembers performing a wide variety of missions. The duty of a Marine Corps Tank operator has remained fairly consistent over the years, despite having a constant updating process where the tanks being used are improved and updated with the current technology. The enlisted Marine Corps Servicemember who joins to be a MI tank crewmember has an adventurous and exciting job ahead of them.

The Marine Corps are the service that is most often the first on the scene, in battle and in expeditionary forces. Tasks of a M1A1 crewman can include preparing the tank, assembling equipment, personnel and supplies for movement. If you have good basic mechanical ability and the ability to use tools, and can work successfully in a team environment, and do not mind-closed spaces, this may be the job for you. Working in the United States Marine Corps as a tank M1A1 crewperson will take you around the world, and you will have the ability to serve in a variety of different duty environments during your career. The Tank crew of a M1A1 functions as a unit, to provide tactical employment, firing, and maneuvering. Every Marine Corps Servicemember is a rifleman, and your training will begin with Basic Combat Training for 8 weeks. You will learn about Marine Corps history and tradition, and you will become a trained, effective military Servicemember. After boot camp a M1 tank candidate will attend the M1A1 Armor course. This is a course of training involving both classroom training and combat skill training. Training for the specialty of Marine Corps M1A1 tank crewmember is held in stages, over a period of time, and it has several elements. Training is conducted at Ft Knox, Kentucky and consists of both on the job training, as well as modified skills training conducted under simulated conditions.

The duty of a M1 Tank operator includes being able to perform basic tasks in a combined environment area inside combat vehicles. A M1A1 Tank crew or unit crewman knows various skills and performs operations in support of the mission assigned to the tank crew.
