US Marines Host Toys for Tots

November 6, 2007 By admin

Christmas is a special and magical time for many people. Unfortunately, though, there are many families that can not afford a Christmas for each other. The US Marines has decided to put a stop to this. For many years, the US Marines and Toys R Us have been working in conjunction with one another to bring a Toys for Tots campaign to the forefront for the Christmas holidays.

The Toys for Tots program is a means for the children that are less fortunate to have a Christmas so they can receive gifts as well. Many people will purchase gift items, preferably toys from Toys R Us, and will donate the toy at a local bin in the store. This is the best means possible for the families to receive gifts for their children so that they can have a great Christmas as well. The US Marines step in to lend a helping hand, donating the toys to those children that live in impoverished areas. The US Marines will also often move into the areas, making sure that there is an equal distribution of toys for children of all ages.

This year is a special year for the Toys for Tots program, as it marks the 60th anniversary of the program, which is further proof that the program is indeed effective and beneficial for the happiness of children that have so much less than others. The US Marines are proud sponsors of the program, and will continue to be a main staple of the program.
