On a United States Air Force Base, there are many different people using vehicles of all different kinds. Making it possible for the base to be able to operate smoothly is sometimes difficult to do. It is important to make sure that all of the vehicles and aircraft are being routed properly to avoid any kinds of confusion. This is why the job of the traffic management apprentice is important.
What You Will Do
You will be in charge of setting up different traffic systems including analyzing traffic flows throughout the base and making sure that the vehicles which need to be used can make it to the destination that they need to go to with the right amount of priority. You will also be in charge of helping to maintain safety in the different kinds of traffic systems which are used every day.
Get the Training
When you are assigned to this position, you will go through extensive training. This is on top of the regular military training that you have already received through basic training. You will learn the specifics of doing your job before you are ever asked to do anything on the job. You will also receive on the job training so that you will know what you are doing even as regulations might change for your base. You will be able to take the skills that you learn in the USAF and relate them to other high paying jobs in the civilian world.
