When you think of the Air Force, you probably think of planes and flight patterns. That is the thrust of Air Force jobs. So if you love to fly or want to fly, joining the Air Force is a great idea. There are other great reasons to join this branch of the military:
1. Flight careers. Learn to fly in the Air Force, and then once you leave active duty you can become an airline pilot or go to work in some other civilian flight career.
2. Medical benefits. Once you join the Air Force, your healthcare needs are covered by the military. Once you leave active duty, you’re covered under veteran’s health benefits.
3. Housing allowances. You can opt to live on base for free. But if you’d rather live off-base, you get a housing allowance to pay for it.
4. Education. Not only can you get a college degree while you’re in the Air Force, but you can continue your education once you leave active duty and the military foots the bill through the GI Bill.
With the costs of healthcare, career training, higher education and housing today, these benefits are great reasons to join the Air Force.
Hello, what are the opportunities and is there still a signing bonus for college graduates joining the Air Force? I am 22 years old and have a B.A. from Gonzaga University with college loans to pay off. 🙂 I’m currently employed by a major bank as a credit manager but have considered joining the service and thought I’d check to see what the opportunities may be with the USAF. thanks, John
