Al Faw Palace, Camp Victory, Iraq-? Recently more than 130 U.S. Servicemembers of the 40th Expeditionary Signal Battalion choose the beginning of the New Year to take part in a mass re enlistment ceremony. They choose to renew their commitment to the U.S. Army, to service and provide services on deployment in Iraq.
It was a celebration of their renewed commitment, but also an opportunity to look back at all of the different accomplishments that this brave battalion of soldiers has achieved.
The 40th has been the principal ESB battalion providing Theater Signal coverage as well as having members serve with distinction in both Kuwait and Afghanistan also.
?Our soldiers have done an awesome and phenomenal job this past year and they are a real team effort, it?s a tribute to the entire battalion,? said Lieutenant Colonel Linda Jantzen.
Colonel Jansen is Commander for the 40th Expeditionary Signal Battalion.
Communications are vital for the military and their efforts on scene have kept overall signals and communication effort among the different military elements serving in theater running very smoothly. The overall mission is to support the Warfighters, and to make sure there are no outages.
The 40th ESB installs and maintains a vast network of support communications, and their efforts have not gone un noticed by the other soldiers in the region.
