Paktika Province, Afghanistan-? The members of the coalition convoys that are working to travel back and forth in SE Afghanistan have had to endure some of the most intense conditions ever faced by military convoys ever.
Extremes in weather, intense mechanical situations brought on by heavy use, a breakneck schedule and of course attacks regularly by the Taliban and Al Qaeda- these have all been a situation that has brought out the best of the coalition personnel assigned to the mission.
The coalition is working hard to ramp up its effort in Afghanistan, and it will only increase, as the focus on the War on Terror is shifting to Afghanistan. But as things shift to Afghanistan, the convoy operators are in place, and ready to go. They should be, as they have been performing convoy duties for the last 18 months, and successfully.
Every thing that is needed to maintain and supply the coalition effort is transported by truck. Military supplies, weapons, food, literally everything that keeps the War on Terror progressing is brought across with convoy operations, and it is the brave performance of the US Servicemembers assigned to this duty that is able to keep the war machine in operation.
