Kabul, Afghanistan-? The President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai has recently began to press top US and coalition military leaders regarding the new proposed strategy. There has been talk about plans to stream up to 30,000 soldiers into Afghanistan in a newly proposed ?surge.?
President Karzai has a lot of concern regarding potential operations, and possible civilian issues in different villages and cities in Afghanistan. Karzai has approached Admiral Mike Mullen, who is the chairman of the Joint Chief?s of Staff, for an idea of what the proposed plan is.
President Karzai wants to know the kinds of operations, the number of troops, and in general the missions that new troops would engage in and that he wanted to be personally consulted, as well as the Afghanistan government in general being consulted about such missions.
The President of Afghanistan has grave concerns about US Military actions in Afghanistan, and he informed Admiral Mullen that more care should be taken in cities and villages concerning searches done by US Forces.
President Karzai wants to have more US Forces centered along the border with Pakistan and have more supervision from Afghanistan Government forces over US Military personnel.
