Aviation Combat Brigade Passes Milestone
The mission that wound up being the 200th mission for the Air Assault team of 3rd Infantry 4th Battalion, 3rd Aviation went much like any other. Flying 200 missions is quite an accomplishment for any Iraq aviation coalition unit. The fact that the mission was uneventful sets just fine with both the crew and the leadership. “For us having a mission go quietly is just a matter of performing the mission as planned, nothing more nothing less,” said Chief Warrant Officer 3 Nigel Huebscher.
CWO3 Huebscher is the lead pilot for most of the units missions.
“We hit most missions with time on target goals and that for us is true success,” said Huebscher. “If we perform the mission flawlessly that in itself is its own reward, we are grateful when this happens,” said Huebscher.
During the first 12 months of the Combat Air battalion tour of duty they have worked hard to take down a number of standing records. The records for total number of operational flight hours, and the amount of fuel pumped was two of the records that fell to the Aviation Combat Brigade.

Many of the crewmembers and pilots that are on the current deployment were in Iraq with the unit in 2005, so their familiarity and knowledge of the area has helped them to perform efficiently and with swift reactions to missions that would slay lesser units.
