First Of A Series Purchased By Iraqi Air Force From Coalition Forces
U.S. Forces were proud to deliver the first of a brand new series of aircraft to Officials from the Iraqi Air Force in a ceremony December 28th. The King Air Three Fifty is a new airplane that will be providing service to the Iraqi Air Force.
Foreign military sales is a division of the Iraqi reconstruction effort, that allows the Iraqi government to purchase needed military items and supplies from other countries including the United States, with guidance and oversight from Coalition and US Officials.
The additional King Air Aircraft to be delivered throughout the next year is to be all fitted with various sensitive devices to allow it to gather and process intelligence. These new aircraft will fly surveillance, airlift and critical training missions,” said Brigadier General Bob Allardice. General Allardice is the Commander for Coalition Air Force Transition Teams.
The head of the Iraqi Air Force, Lieutenant General Kamal was enthusiastic with his praise for this new aircraft; This is a very good aircraft, and it will be able to fly many missions for us. We look forward to flying it soon,? stated General Kamal.
The first of what promises to be dozens of the new aircraft, the King Air plane that was delivered on December 28th did not have the new sensors and listening devices installed. Instead, as the first of the series, it will be used primarily for PR, flying distinguished guests and visitors, and other similar missions.
