Joint Coalition And Iraqi Generals Inspect Food Market
The Wasit province has a number of different marketplaces, and the overall economy in Iraq has been continuing to thrive, and this has led to a inspection tour by Iraqi and Coalition leaders. A number of high ranking generals recently inspected marketplace centers near FOB Delta during their tour on November 3rd to November 5th.
The leadership for the tour has come from the Iraqi Security Forces, who perhaps are the most pleased about the continued healing and growth. They were pleased to be able to take the joint group of American, Coalition and Iraqi Generals to markets in Al Kut and the region as a symbol of unity and security.
Brigadier General Jeffoery Smith, MDC Deputy Commanding General for Support, Major General Michael Oates, MDC Commander, Iraqi Major General Adul Al Hammood Faisal, Iraqi Police Director, Iraqi Brigadier General Abed Babr Mazlourn, leader of the 32nd Iraqi Army BDE, and Coalition Colonel Richard Francey, 41st Fires BDE Commander all participated in the tour and the following Lunch.
It was a chance to take the Generals to locations that had been heavily fought and defended, and where there is now only peace, quiet and security now.
