Reliable Power Provided To Over 300,000 Iraqi Citizens
The people in the Al Kut region have been largely without electric service because of the war over the last year. But recently the electric grid received a generous upgrade with the establishment of the former Al Kut substation. The substation received a 33kv switch and other electric gear, which has helped supply power for distribution and transmission.
The Al Kut region has needed additional power for some time, and the substation upgrade has allowed the operational ability of the local community to increase. The updated substation and upgrade means power distributed to an additional 300,000 people in the region and surrounding area of Al Kut.
Modernizing the equipment and the substation means the speed of service and the ability to troubleshoot has increased, meaning that when a situation or problem arises it can be handled more swiftly.
The main switches that make up the electric substation are easier to access, easier to reset and check, and much more reliable.
The project has been the result of a number of different projects that are being mounted for the benefit of the Wasit province, and the people of the region of Al Kut.
