Local Sons Of Iraq Lead Coalition Soldiers To Secret Location
The benefit and assistance of local citizen groups such as the Sons of Iraq have become more and more evident. Last week, members of the local Sons of Iraq group in North Zambraniyah led coalition solders to an elaborate Al Qaeda secret Torture Chamber.
Inside the Torture house, there were a number of disturbing and grizzly type discoveries. In one area were bare wires leading to an on and off switch. The other end of the wires terminated next to several pair of handcuffs that were attached to the wall. Right next to the handcuffs were large crude hooks that have been used to cruelly hang humans by their ankles, or wrists from the wall.
Twelve books on torture and interrogation techniques written in Arabic were on a table in the room. Several discarded sets of clothing for females were there, along with a bloody human handprint.
Based on information from the Sons of Iraq, patrols have been stepped up in the area, with reports of a torture chamber being rumored in the area. The particular patrol leading to the discovery was based on a single tip by a member of the Sons Of Iraq. The Sons Of Iraq leader himself brought the information by hand and gave it to coalition soldiers.
“This community leader lost his whole family to Al Qaeda, and he is driven, on a mission to drive these terrorists out of his country,” said Captain Chris O’Brian. Captain O’Brian is the Commander for Troop C, 6-8th Cavalry Regiment, 4th BCT, 3rd Infantry. “This man heads up a force of 300 local Iraqi Citizens in his Sons of Iraq group, and they work tirelessly with us to try and root out Al Qaeda,” said Captain O’Brian.
