It is the specific command that has the responsibility to provide support to civilian authorities, defend our country, and respond to any emergencies inside the USA, said Ham.
The Southern U.S. Command covers South America and Central America. We use low key soft power to assist countries in the Southern Command Region, said General Ham. He spoke about U.S. Navy hospital ships and other efforts assisting storm victims in Central and South America.
General Ham gave an overview of the other Commands in Asia, Europe, and Central Command. U.S Central Command is the one tasked with Iraq and Afghanistan operations. We have some tough and difficult fighting yet to be done,? said General Ham.
But we are seeing slowly countries like Afghanistan and Iraq will eventually be able to provide security for themselves, stated General Ham.
