Are You Qualified To Be US Navy Military Police?
An ideal candidate for the position of Navy Military Police Officer you should be a person of high morals, and someone that has not been convicted of a criminal offense. You should be mature, open-minded and be able to handle yourself responsibly. You will attend Navy Basic training, where you will be indoctrinated into the Navy enlisted way, and learn what it means to be an enlisted Navy Servicemember. Then you will progress to a Military Police Advanced training school where you will learn state of the art procedures and train to be a Navy enlisted military police officer. Every individual in the military is subject to the authority of the MP?s or military policeman, whether the person is a member of the Navy or not. You should be level headed and a person that works as a member of a team well. Working in the military as a US Navy Military Policeman is a job that involves a lot of responsibility.
You will be taught how to deal with all different types of people and how to conduct patrols in vehicles, and on foot. Crowd control and the different ways to diffuse difficult situations will be part of the issues that you deal with, and learning the latest procedures in crime prevention and criminal military investigation will also be part of your training. The duty of a military Navy enlisted policeman is to enforce laws, maintain order, and to detect, investigate and prevent crime. You will be tasked and assigned to prevent criminal activity and working to detect and investigate different types of crime.
Serving and deployment for a Navy Military Police officer can be anywhere in the world that the United States Navy or military is stationed, supporting various security patrols and supporting various Navy missions. People who make the best criminal investigators and police officers are people oriented and able to make swift decisions and to think on their feet. Training for the position is intensive and will give the candidate the skills necessary to work unsupervised and independently.
