The Army maintains a fleet of equipment including combat planes, passenger, transport and supply aircraft, helicopter and various other aircraft. The work of an enlisted Army Support Aviation specialist is a job that is important and necessary to keep the Army Aviation fleet read at all times for missions. These craft fly missions and perform Army operations each and every day.
Army enlisted aviation support specialists are key personnel that perform different duties to keep operations efficient and flight and ground crews safe.
Working as an Army Operations enlisted Aviation specialist is varied, and a job that is very interesting. You will deal with both unclassified and classified materials, and it may require a flight clearance or security clearance to be able to perform your job. You will work with personnel on various levels and you will deal with many different types of situations in flight and aircraft scheduling. You will interpret and post different reports on flight and weather conditions, and maintain individual and functional flight plans. You will log both incoming and outgoing flights, and keep records of airfield conditions and environmental and flight factors. Some of the responsibilities you may have may involve coordination of flight and airfield activity, assisting in tactical and supply missions, scheduling and dispatching different aircraft missions, and alerting emergency flight crews of emergency conditions, to process and file flight clearances Training- As with most jobs you will attend Army Basic training for 9 weeks, and learn all about becoming an enlisted Army Servicemember. You will then attend Operations Aviation training from 6 to 9 weeks, and learn a variety of different things that will train you for service as an Army Aviation Operations specialist. You will work to schedule aircraft, and learn how to specifically assign Air Crews. You will learn and be introduced to preparing flight records and reports

You will also learn how to deal with crash and tactical rescue systems, and how to review and prepare technical reports. You will learn how to prepare reports regarding flight violations, and supervise and transfer different types of classified materials. You will also learn to prepare situation maps, learn how to report flight procedures and a variety of documentation tasks. If you have an interest or aptitude in computers, and work well with office machinery and office machines this may be an excellent job for you in the Military.
