Army National Guard Military Police

February 29, 2012 By admin

Do you have the desire to work as a civilian police man in the future? If so, you know how important it is to get the proper training. While you could take a more traditional route (such as college and the police academy), there is nothing wrong with becoming part of the Army National Guard. By doing so, you can get the training and experience you need while protecting your country.

Note: experience in the Army National Guard Military Police is an attractive personal selling feature as you look for a civilian career in the future.

Military Police Training

Like all new personnel in the Army National Guard, you must complete 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training. During this training, the majority of your focus will be on basic Soldiering skills.

Once these 10 weeks are complete and you have graduated, it is time to move onto Advanced Individual Training. This is when you will start your on-the-job training, including police methods.

Civilian Police Jobs

The skills and experience that you gain as part of the Army National Guard Military Police will prepare you for a future in the law enforcement field. No matter if you want to work for a city, county, state, or federal agency, you will have the experience necessary to put yourself above the competition.

The training that you receive as part of the Army National Guard will also prepare you for specialized careers including but not limited to: undercover agent, private investigator, detective, correction officer, or security officer.

Military Police

Believe it or not, accidents and crimes occur within the Army National Guard on a regular basis. Fortunately, the Guard has a law enforcement team to tackle all of these problems. On a military base, police are staffed with the responsibility of regular patrol, controlling traffic, and assisting with all investigations and emergencies.

CID Special Agent

Are you interested in taking your skills to the next level? The Army National Guard has their own law enforcement team that handles crimes committed on their property. Additionally, personnel are responsible for any illegal activity regarding a member of the National Guard.

CID (Criminal Investigations Division) Special Agents focus the majority of their time on investigating criminal activity that affects National Guard personnel or property, ranging from treason to terrorism and much more.

Benefits of Joining the Army National Guard Military Police

Benefits are a big part of joining the National Guard. Where else are you going to get all of the following?

– Paid training

– Montgomery GI Bill

– Monthly paycheck

– 100 percent tuition assistance

– Low cost life insurance policy

– Retirement benefits

– Student loan repayment program

– Healthcare benefits

If you want to enjoy a long career in the law enforcement field, you can get your start by becoming part of the Army National Guard Military Police.

iI would strongly recommend the National Guard police training. The reason is simple. Just think of the ‘on the job’ training that will prepare you to work for any civilian police force. Not only that, but you get GI Bill veteran benefits as well. May include free college. Not sure, but with a career in criminal justice along with a college degree you may qualify for CIA or FBI. Pretty cool!
