Are you interested in earning your college degree? Do you have the desire to become an officer in the Army upon graduation? If so, you can get the best of both worlds through the completion of the Army ROTC program. For many people, this is the path to a better future. Not only do you earn a degree that will help you excel well into the future, but you will be in position to serve your country as an officer.
Ways to Get Involved with the Program
No matter if you are in high school, college, or already serving, there is an opportunity to become an officer through the completion of the Army ROTC program.
High School Students
If you are in high school but know that you want to attend college, you can get involved with Army ROTC upon enrolling. There are many colleges and universities throughout the country that offer this program. In addition to contacting these institutions direct, you can speak with your high school guidance counselor as a means of obtaining more information.
College Students
Are you already attending college? It is not too late to get involved in Army ROTC. The first thing you should do is sign up for the Army ROTC basic elective course. If you have at least two years of school remaining but don?t have enough time to complete the Basic Course, you can still get involved: you can enlist in Leader?s Training Course in Fort Knox, Kentucky ? this takes place during the summer.
If you have the desire or need to complete Army ROTC training in two years, the Leader?s Training Course is for you. Of course, this is no easy process. You must be ready to complete a 28-day training program that is full of challenges. Upon completion, you will find yourself back on campus with the ability to enter the Advanced Course.
Enlisted Soldiers
Are you already serving in the United States Army? If so, you may think that your time to complete Army ROTC training is long gone. Fortunately, this is not the case. If you are in the Army but want to become an officer, there are opportunities to consider.
The Green to Gold Division provides a select few soldiers with the opportunity to complete their college degree program and obtain commission as an officer.
Benefits of the Army ROTC Program
Above all else, the main benefit of the Army ROTC program is the ability to work towards your degree while also taking the steps necessary to become an officer upon graduation.
Other benefits include:
– The availability of Army ROTC scholarships and other financial assistance
– The opportunity to attend college as a normal student
– The chance to get a jumpstart on others who may enlist in the Army after graduation
As you can see, it does not matter if you are in high school or college. As long as you have the desire to complete the Army ROTC program, there is a very good chance that you can get involved.
I’m a veteran. If you have leadership abilities… get a degree and become an officer!!!! You’ll have a better life and benefits TODAY! More importantly, in your FUTURE! The corporate world WANTS MILITARY OFFICERS. Don’t have the money for college, check out rotc.com. Or do what so many do, get a parttime job and pay for community college degree. Yes, it’s hard work but you and your family will be more proud and happier with more money long after. Good luck. Sorry to sound like an old guy preaching to his flock. Well, the ‘old guy’ part is right anyway….
