Military Education
West Point (the United States Military Academy), the United States Naval Military Academy, the United States Air Force Academy and the Coast Guard Academy all provide an excellent education that is founded on basic academic instruction in math, science and English. Additionally, the Academies emphasize military history, physical fitness and moral and ethical development and decision-making. Finally, cadets learn about leadership and intellectual strength.
All cadets from the four Academies graduate with a Bachelor of Science and entry into one of the four branches of the United States military.
Benefits of a Military Education
Besides providing students with a well balanced education, entrance to a United States military academy gives students free tuition, free room and board and free books and supplies during their academic career. Competition for entrance into the military academies is fierce and highly regulated. The requirements for entrance into one of the four academies includes being over the age of 17 and less than the age of 23; recommendation from a United States Senator, Congressman, Vice President or Representative; applicant must be unmarried; and applicant must not be pregnant or have dependents. Additionally, most applicants must be United States citizens.
