Weapons And Terrorists Captured By Iraqi Troops
The members of the ISF forces were fortunate enough to kill 9 terrorist suspects, including one suspected Al Qaeda leader. The joint forces were attempting to arrest the suspects when they opened up fire, and then were killed in the ensuing gun battle.
A member of the Al Qaeda cell was observed traveling to and from a specific house near Baghdad, and a number of the local citizens turned the suspect in to the ISF forces. They raided the house, with a unit of the coalition traveling to the scene acting as backup to the Iraqi effort.
After arriving, suddenly gunfire broke out that was started by the suspected terrorists. Two Iraqi Soldiers were wounded, and the 9 terrorist suspects were killed. A 10th suspect was wounded and arrested, and two other individuals that did not open fire were also arrested without incident.
The wounded insurgent suspect was given emergency medical care and transported to a nearby hospital for emergency care, and then was taken to the coalition base for further questioning.
In other action in the region near Sadr City, there were 6 other suspected insurgents arrested and taken for questioning. This brings to the number 14 the number of insurgents that have been captured

The number of insurgent violent activities is down nearly 70 percent over the last two years, and the number of reported incidents continues to dive.
