Primary Healthcare Nears Successful End
There are a number of different primary care health centers that are being constructed in the Basrah region. The members of the US Army corps of Engineers, Gulf south region have worked with the Iraqi government to construct 11 different Primary healthcare facilities.
Each of the primary health care facilities will give a new clinic location to the Iraqi citizens, as well as providing for medical services and preventative care.
Each of the 11 primary healthcare locations feature a denture center, a pharmacy, a x ray facility, modern fire alarm systems as well as maternity facilities.
The clinics will cooperate with the Iraqi ministry of health to assist and provide necessary medical services for large amounts of Iraqi people. The cost of each of the different healthcare clinics will run from $500 to $600 thousand dollars, and it will provide for the training and outfitting of each of the primary health care clinics.
The current state of medical care in Iraq is improving, but the use of primary healthcare centers will feature prominently in helping change from not being able to meet the needs of the Iraqi community to having a well outfitted primary health clinic in each community.
Older facilities that are currently overwhelmed will be able to give primary health care duties to the health clinics.
