The United States Navy is a mixtures of all the different kinds of races and religions which make up the United States of America itself. As a result, people need to be able to practice their beliefs in a way which will be in keeping with their religion and their way of life. Making this possible in the US Navy is the job of the Navy Chaplain. You will be the spiritual voice of many different religions while at sea.
Life as an Officer
Those who choose to be an officer as a Navy Chaplain get the added bonus of being able to help those in need of spiritual guidance while far from home. You will be able to counsel sailors as they deal with separation from their family and friends. You will also be able to study Theology as you move towards a deeper understanding of all world religions and their place in the military lifestyle. You will also help those individuals to cope with their chosen line of work.

Service to the Navy
The service you will provide to the US Navy will go well beyond the sermons you give in the chapel on Sundays. You will also be working one on one with sailors to provide counsel and a moral compass.
