Dare To Live Greatly by L.C. Fowler is an inspiring story that will genuinely move and strengthen you, especially your Christian faith. The book tells us about the author’s experience in training to become a Navy SEAL. Larry Fowler inspired his readers by sharing how he pulled through his Basic Underwater Demolition SEAL training with faith, hard work, and strength, all of which were challenged as he survived all the difficulties ahead. It was also moving to see how Larry and his team worked together to succeed and overcome all the hurdles. Truly an inspiring book that will help you understand more of what you can possibly do that you didn’t even know you could really do and how trusting in your faith changes all of it.
A good friend of mine read “Dare to Live Greatly” & recommended it…I am glad he did!
I have a ton of respect for SEALs that i was interested from the get-go to read what Larry had to say
-he motivated and challenged me to grow in an excellent, read personal life story format ..not saying what to do..but what he had learned & done through his life, no punches pulled … He talks about victories but doesn’t sugar coat the challenges ..couldn’t put it down ..finished it in 5 hours and am going back thru it designing a personal Bible Study on the parts that impacted me most.
My “C4” was sparkling but now adding more consistency to fuse & cap. I hope you order the book and find out what that means. Get ready to laugh, learn, cry, grow, and be challenged. Larry’s motivation is for readers to grow their faith.
Another Dare To Live Greatly Reader adds:
This book is based on a really clever idea: the author combines two things he knows well: his time spent training to join the Navy SEALs and his Christian life. Each chapter describes a different part of the SEALs training course; my goodness; it is grueling. I was horrified in parts. Did it have to be so grueling? Did the recruits have to immerse themselves in raw sewage, risking all manner of deadly infections? Of course, the author feels that the grueling nature of these challenges made him the man he is today and showed him how to face adversity, such as losing a child and a business. This really is a well-planned and well-written book, and it will inspire and motivate the reader.
One reviewer added: I just got done reading the ENTIRE book! I did not put it down! It was Amazing! God is the Author of this book, and Larry was a vessel! I am so thankful that Larry allowed himself to be transparent, stripped, and authentic and was willing to share his journey and the true meaning of this life with others. So many goosebumps while I read this book. It was as if God was jumping off the pages, reminding me what this life is about and how we are to run this race to the best of our ability. This book shows how much of a better race we will run, allowing God to be our Author! I would recommend this book to all ages, genders, and all who are looking for Hope in this world! Larry’s “insider’s look” into the U.S. Navy SEALs, combined with his strong faith, makes this book a unique and gripping read. But more than just a riveting read, this remarkable book relates the challenges, difficulties, and hardships encountered in SEAL training to the profound truths and spiritual wisdom found in the Scriptures.
With each short chapter, I wrote down a quote, a phrase, or a principle I wanted to remember.
Larry’s book is more than just a one-time read. This is a book you will refer back to repeatedly as you encounter and navigate through the various trials & challenges of life.
I look forward to sharing this unique and captivating book with all my staff, friends, and family!
It is a great book full of wonderful stories that will challenge and encourage you. It will challenge you on your faith and encourage you when facing the world’s troubles. A good quote from the book, “…… they don’t panic or run from their pain, fears or anxieties, they run toward them.” The author (Fowler) is a former Navy Seal, father and husband, a business person, and a Christ follower.
One of my favorite lines from the book is, ” Confidence is also learned, not a gift.” The author connected his stories of joy and suffering to his faith. Read this book to have a stronger mindset and power in your faith.
Read it, live it, and gift it! No superlatives, just how it was and how it is. Larry Fowler spells out what it takes to succeed as an individual and as a team throughout multiple phases of life and its inevitable challenges.
You’ll be entertained by the stories (you’ll laugh and wince) and enriched by his wisdom. If you take it to heart, I’m confident your life will be enhanced in numerous ways. I’m also confident that future readers will echo my praises for “Dare to Live Greatly” for many years to come.
