Best Jobs For Military Personnel With College Degrees

March 9, 2012 By admin

There is nothing better than earning your college degree and then serving time in the military. Not only does this give you the chance to serve your country, but along the way you will get to work in a capacity that meets your expectations. As part of the military, you will put your skills to good use while gaining experience that can be used well into the future.

Once your time in the military comes to an end, you can move into the world of civilian employment. Fortunately, you will be doing so with plenty of experience under your belt.

Note: employers love applicants who have served in the military. This shows that they are dedicated, willing to work hard, responsible, and so much more.

What are the best jobs for military personnel with college degrees? The answer to this question is going to be based largely on your particular position as well as your career related goals for the future.

Here is a short list of some of the best jobs for people who have a college degree along with military experience:

– Nurse

– Security guard

– Police officer

– Teacher

– Automotive technician

– Computer support specialist

– Paralegal

– Radiologic technician

– Airline pilot

– Construction worker

How to Apply for Military to Civilian Jobs

As your time in the military comes to an end, you will have all the help you need to transition successfully into civilian life. Be sure to take advantage of any resources that are made available to you, no matter what they may be.

Once you make a decision on the career that is best for you, it is time to apply for open positions in the area you are interested in living. While some people have an idea of where they want to find a job, others are more open to moving. You have probably moved around a bit in the military, so one more time may not bother you at all.

During the application process, be sure to include all of your military experience and training. As mentioned above, employers love to hire people who have served their country. This will go a long way in helping you separate yourself from other applicants.

If you have both a college degree and military experience, it is much easier to find a job in the civilian sector. Your skills will be in high demand and your experience will give you the ability to hit the ground running from day one.
