The United States Army has one of the largest standing Army forces in the world. The members of the United States Army are all working to perform their mission and the Army Communications Cable technician is the person to make sure the data and information gets to where it is supposed to be. It travels over the wired networks that the Army maintains. The Communications Army Cable technician work to make sure that all of the different communications gear and equipment is in top working order. This equipment gives the United States Army the ability to track and direct ship, troop, and aircraft movement. This equipment works to provide the needed information for mission and battle preparedness.
Cable and Wired systems are all part of the Army communications network. The Army cable communications technicians are the ones responsible for keeping the Army cable network up and running. Army Communications Systems maintainers and installers are tasked to insure all cable equipment is performing at its specified level of operations and they work to install and maintain these systems. The continued maintenance of wired cable systems can be a task that is daunting and requires a lot of legwork, and that involved daily and regularly scheduled inspections of the cable systems. As a specialist working in the Army on cable systems you will perform tasks and jobs such as; maintaining wired security devices, troubleshooting of communications and wired cable systems, finding trouble area and fault lines, and performing various tests to ensure that the equipment is working correctly. Other duties you will be involved in includes: stringing wire and overhead communications cables, assembling electrical cable between utility poles, aligning and calibration of various wired electrical components, and operating motorized and manual cable construction equipment. Working in the electronics cable Army field will permit you to earn an associate electronics AA associates degree. Job training to become an Army Wired Communications Cable technician involves 9 weeks of basic training in which you will learn all about being a member of the enlisted Army. Then you will attend a 7 week training course to learn how to perform the duties of an Army enlisted Cable Communications technician.
