its not a male only job.. and a heads up.. if you really want to be a gunner, dont post on these forums (or atleast dont say you do) because when you get into training, the instructors are going to make fun of you for it. There is alot more to this job then you think, so don’t go into it thinking you are going to just shoot guns. be prepared to study

Hey, I’m in high school and I’m looking into joining the Military. I was looking into careers such as the Aerial Gunner or a cannon crew member. My question is do these guns permanently damage your hearing. I know they’re loud but do they cause permanent damage? Other then these two roles what else might you suggest me? Thanks..

Im going in Jan 25th as Munitions Systems. I. I did awesome on every single test, except my vision. apparently my right eye vision isnt correctable to 20/20. something got mixed up here. Well it turned out to be my glasses perscription had changed over a year throwing off my results. I was told if the results get corrected I could perhaps get reassigned to Aerial Gunner. i kinda hope that happens. But either way i’ve got a nice pick.

Im jealous of everyone that does this job. I joined just to do this but got told at MEPS I was color blind becasue of that damn number book. So Comm it is for me(which i hate). Gotta talk to a career advisor and get some more test done. Im either cross training to Aerial Gunner, going to JCSE or getting out.
