Cash Enlistment Navy Reserve Benefits

Joining the United States Navy can be an action that brings a lot of personal satisfaction, but it is also an endeavor that gives people financial and benefit rewards. For some jobs in the Navy you can qualify for a specific Navy enlistment bonus, and it can be worth thousands of dollars if you choose to join a specialty or rating that is in dire need. There are different types of enlistment bonuses, and they are designated for several different groups of people looking to enlist. Some of them are for those seeking to enlist for the first time; others are for those that the Navy wants to retain.

Bonuses are awarded in the Navy in a specific fashion; it is a great idea to find out what types and specific bonuses are available when you enlist. The job needs for the Active duty and Reserve Navy change, and bonuses are often paid to encourage young people to choose a certain rating or job title. Most bonuses are paid in full at the first permanent duty station that is assigned in a person?s enlisted career. Here are the different types and kinds of bonuses that are available: Prior Service- Serving in the United States Armed Forces and then choosing to enlist in the Navy or Navy reserves makes you eligible in some cases for a prior service enlistment cash bonus. You may qualify for the Prior Service bonus, based on your six-year agreement to an additional enlistment contract. If you choose an additional three year contract, then you will possibly qualify for an additional $10, 000 dollar bonus instead of the larger amount, but it all depends on how long you sign up for, the length of your enlistment contract.
Selective Conversion Recruiting Bonus- After you serve your first tour of duty sometimes the Navy would like a person to consider switching to a different rating, or converting. After you have completed your first term of military service, you could possibly be eligible for a $10,000 dollar bonus.

The Basic Bonus- The basic enlistment US Navy bonus can be up to $20,000 dollars if you choose to enlist in the US Navy on active duty or at times in the US Navy Reserves. You must sign up for a six year enlistment in order to qualify for the $20,000 dollar enlistment option.
