Scouts And Light Armor Vehicle Crew Work To Ensure Safety

Now, with the situation improving the fight has been taken to the bunkers. Old abandoned Iraq Military bunkers located at the H2 Airfield have been systematically searched, and the search continues, bunker by bunker. Light Armored Crewmen and Scouts, nicknamed “Gunfighter,” for their search and destroy mission have been work as a team to search the abandoned bunkers to make sure there is no hiding members of Al Qaeda that have remained behind.

Not only are they searching the bunkers but they are working to map them, and their details so that faster response is possible in the future. “We are looking for the enemy, enemy weapons, or caches of stored weapons, whatever we can do to deny the enemy freedom from easy movement,” said Sergeant Marty S. Crisp, Scout Squad leader.
“We will eventually hand off to Iraqi Security forces, but we are going to make sure that there are no insurgents hiding in the area before we do, and we are well on our way to doing that.” Said Sergeant Crisp.
