Many celebrities often fly to war-torn areas to help lend their support in Iraq, which they have done in this instance. Many of the troops appreciate the gestures, as it mean that there are those that still support what they do, as well as it brings a piece of America to them while they are stationed elsewhere.
The Improv group received donations from the community to travel to Iraq, on which they were able to make desired trip. Many will also lay claim to the fact that they were quite happy to travel and share jokes among other Americans.
The Chicago Improv group is not the very first group to transcend to where there are soldiers. There have been the likes of Pamela Anderson, Kid Rock, Kathy Griffen, and legendary comics such as Bob Hope, who have all lent their time to the soldiers in Iraq. Many will travel and do a few shows, and then move on to their next venue.
Those that have been overseas to help support the war all come back to the States claiming that it was the most moving experience that they have ever had. For many troops, they, too, feel the very same way.
