There have been Army recruiters in the Lafayette, Louisiana area, asking for civilians to recruit as a part of the Civil Air patrol. There is a great need for the homeland security, and there was no better place to look than in Louisiana. Many of the people that are in the state are still feeling the effects of hurricane Katrina, and they know that it will be a very long road yet before there are people that are back on their feet with from the hurricane.
There are many people that feel as though they need to be active and do something to help benefit the community, so they are turning to the various methods that they know, such as volunteering to register as a civil air patrol.
The civil air patrol takes care of many aspects for our US Military, such as rendering aid to those that are in need, with items like food and clothing. The civil air patrol is also relied upon when there are civilians that are missing, such as those that may have crashed in a plane crash or are missing in the wilderness.
The duties that are asked of from the civil air patrol are extensive, and cover many bases. Those that sign up to be a part of the civil air family will not be disappointed, as there are many that have signed up before them and have made a positive, life long career out of being active in the civil air patrol.
