There are many departments that the United States Navy is well known for. While most of the departments have to do with the ability to dominate in a military fashion, there are a few ways in which the Navy is able to shine in non-military fashions. One of the most famous of the non-military endeavors is the Sea Bees and they would not be complete if they did not have the backing of heavy machinery.
What You Will Do
When you work as an equipment operator in the US Navy, you will be responsible for working the heavy construction equipment and the transportation used to build the different pieces buildings which the Navy needs as well as the buildings different societies need as they grow or recover from disaster. You will operate machinery which will excavate as well as strip roads and lift heavy building materials. You will help to work off of blueprints as well as to follow the instructions of your commanding officer.

Get the Training
You will go through basic training just like all of the rest of the enlisted personnel. You will also go through 92 days of ?A? school training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Here, you will learn everything you will need to know to do your job properly and to provide what the rest of the Sea Bees need to construct large projects in a short period of time.
