New Expedient Police Station Completed In Al Mustafa
New and encouraging signs of security growth are continuing as a new police station was recently dedicated in Al Mustafa. The station was built with joint efforts from the Coalition engineers and from members from the Iraqi Army.
The station will allow an increased amount of police in the region and will help to show the local residents that even though the coalition is slowly pulling out, that the region and the city remains safe under the watchful eyes of the Iraqi Security Forces.
The Iraqi police can work cases and investigate, and they have state of the art facilities in the new police station, and it goes a long way toward helping the local police be able to function independently. Before the station the police were traveling from Al Rasheed, about 5 kilometers away.
The new station has 173 Iraqi police officers, on average about 40 officers are stationed each duty shift, and they have an excellent working relationship with the coalition troops stationed nearby.
