Citizens Receive Training To Aid In Security From American MPs
The members of the coalition have worked hard to train members of the Iraqi Police, and the Iraqi Army. Now, there are increasing opportunities to train willing members of the community, there are members of different groups such as Sons of Iraq, and just volunteer Iraqi Citizens that want to help out.
These citizens work to help man the checkpoints, and participate in helping patrol certain parts of their village and city, near Forward Operating Base Falcon.
Not everything is drill and instruction, during breaks members of the coalition often play a pick up soccer game with the students, and it helps break the tension and creates lasting relationships between the members of the coalition and the civilians.
There are only two day training instruction being held, and during these types of instruction it is the basics, self defense, how to deal with violence, and how to report security threats to Iraqi Security or coalition troops are covered.
The coalition is happy to give this type of basic training to the citizens that seek it, and it is a way to involve members of the community, and they react with pride and a sense of commitment to their community, and they are enthusiastic in their willingness to help out.
