Professionalism And Willingness Marks Iraq Security Forces
Baghdad, Iraq
There are increased tendencies for the Iraqi people to step in and help reclaim their country. The security forces for the State of Iran are working hard to protect, and stepping up to take more responsibility, and the Iraqi National Army is assuming more and more of its own defense responsibilities.
These were a few of the issues covered by Rear Admiral Gregory J Smith recently. Admiral Smith spoke about equipping and training of the Iraqi National Police, the Iraqi Army, and the cooperation and assistance that the Concerned Local Citizens (CLC) groups have been giving recently.
“We are pleased and very happy that we are seeing more and more examples of Iraq government and security forces assuming an active role in their country,” said Admiral Smith. There have been gains in the CLC groups, Iraqi National Police, Iraqi Army, as well as gains and additional growth among the leaders and provincial governments in Iraq related Admiral Smith.
“Because the Iraqi Army is on scene, among its people there is an added bonus of positive relationships being formed between citizens and their Armed Forces,” said Admiral Smith. Two weeks ago in Karmah there was two huge stockpiles of weapons found. The find included nearly twenty five hundred pounds of explosives. The stockpiles were discovered as a result of an Iraqi Citizen tip, and actually found by the Iraqi Army when they investigated. “This is an excellent example, of Iraqi helping Iraqi, and a vast amount of lives were likely saved,” said Admiral Smith.
