College Benefits in the Army Reserve

If you are interested in continuing your career or college benefits close to home while serving your country, you may want to check out what the US Army Reserve has to offer you. In addition to job security, awesome pay and college benefits, the Army Reserve also offers some additional financial incentives:

ARMY RESERVE ENLISTMENT BONUS – If you are a qualified service applicant, with no prior service, you may be eligible for for up to $20,000 in enlistment bonuses if you enlist for three or more years in the Army Reserve.

CIVILIAN SKILLS BONUS – If you already possess civilian skills that the Reserve needs, you may be eligible to receive up to $20,000. Qualified applicants who possess a critical skill specialty must enlist for 6 years with the Army Reserve. This is offered through the (ACASP), Army Civilian Acquired Skills Program.

MIDDLE EASTERN TRANSLATOR AIDE BONUS – The Middle Eastern Translator Aide (MOS 09L) enlistment bonus is available for eligible individuals who speak certain Middle-Eastern languages and enlist as 09L in the U.S. Army Individual Ready Reserve (IRR). The amount of the bonus is up to $10,000. Applicants without previous military service who enlist for 09L in the Selected Reserve may be eligible for a $20,000 bonus. Soldiers in the Selected Reserve are assigned to a unit. Soldiers in the IRR have a service obligation but are not assigned to a Reserve unit.

ARMY RESERVE CHAPLAIN BONUS – By serving six years as a Reserve Troop Program Unit Chaplain, you may be eligible for a bonus of up to $10,000. The bonus is payable following the completion of the Chaplain Officer Basic Course, which must be completed within 36 months of commissioning.
