Could Russian Military be Preparing to Attack U.S. in Asia & Europe

June 4, 2017 By larryf

Russian Military May be Preparing to Attack U.S. in Asia & Europe. Due to actions taken by the U.S. Military all around the globe, Russia has warned that they plan to expand their military presence in both Asia and Europe. Alexander Grushko, the Russian ambassador to NATO stated that the county will take measures to counter the United States military buildup with allies along the border of Europe and Russia.

Four strategic battle groups were formed in the Baltic States and throughout Poland last year with thousands of troops and many military resources dedicated to defense in this area. The plan was sponsored by Washington and formed by NATO.

After Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, NATO started to build and develop military capabilities in Europe. However, Moscow believes the move came in response to the political issues in Ukraine that had a large threat to the Russian community. NATO has also accused Russia of expanding its power beyond its sovereign borders in an aggressive way.

President Vladimir Putin also stated that he plans to keep the U.S. Military at bay in the Asia-Pacific area. Recently, Russia has made military movements in the Far East of the nation near the border of Japan in response to the missile shield of the U.S. For many years, Russia has argued that the United States’ missile defense across the world is a thread because of the ability to neutralize any ballistic and nuclear deterrents from Russia. Putin sent military assets to the Kuril Islands in hopes to discourage the United States from another deployment on the borders of Russia.

Putin believes he is taking appropriate responses to the actions of NATO and the United States. The Russian military will also move two divisions of troops, along with anti-missile ships to the islands. The U.S. still maintains military installations in the area, along with two aircraft carriers and many other naval assets.

Putin believes the U.S. has no justification for the defense infrastructure in Asia and Europe. He has been very critical about the military buildup and believes it’s a worldwide military expansion for the U.S. with only a focus on Russia.
