Coalition Gives Control Of Region To Iraqi Forces
The responsibility for the Diyala region is continuing to be transferred to the Iraqi Security Forces. The Southern Balad Ruz area was first started to be transferred to the ISF forces in the first days of August, and it is now being completed in the middle of October.
The Diyala region is a volatile region and it has been the location of a lot of different fighting, but it is now one of the most calm regions. Now that the insurgency has been driven out of the area, the focus has been slowly changing to help rebuild the different infrastructure of the nation.
It is a simple issue: the Iraqi people and Iraqi security forces have slowly come of age, and they are able to take control and are finally ready for the responsibility. They are prepared to take over the area because they have the training, the preparation, and the willingness to now take charge,
The Coalition Commanders and members of the Iraqi Security Services are both in agreement that it is now time, and so the transfer of power in the different areas has gone on ahead full speed.
