Coalition Brings Micro Power Generation To Region
There are many different types of infrastructure that are occurring in Iraq as efforts are being performed by the Coalition to bring the nation back to normalcy. One of these efforts is the goal of bringing electric power to different regions of the nations. The people of east and southern Baghdad, and Iraqi Security Forces and the Coalition unveiled a new micro power generator in the Hay Sheikh Umar.
Members of the Iraqi Government and the Rusafa District Council met with members of the Iraqi Security Forces and the Coalition for a ribbon cutting ceremony. The ceremony was held on September 4th, and it brought to a finish the efforts to obtain a power generator.
The micro generator that the Coalition purchased and helped transport to Iraq is one that provides enough power for about 1,600 families. The area has not had had electric power and the addition of electric power, and it will give enough energy for most people to utilize about 8 hours of energy a day.
While this may not seem like a great deal of opportunities, for those that have never had a radio powered by electric power, or been able to cook using electricity, it is a huge new and exciting benefit.
While this is not a huge power project, it is one that gives hope to different areas in Iraq, and one that will be used to help provide an example for other areas that seek to obtain electric power.
