Taji, Iraq- The members of the Czech republic Army are drawing to a close their operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The coalition is going to miss their support and service, they have served bravely and with distinction during their service in Iraq.
This last week, members of the Coalition and their Czech contingent gathered together at the Iraqi Army Armor School and Armory to celebrate the end of mission and to give recognition to the members from the Czech Army for their support, advice and hard work for the Iraqi forces.
Army Major Frantisek Grmela is the commanding officer for the Czech forces, and they worked to provide advisors and trainers for the Iraqi Army Armor School in the Taji region over the last 6 months.
There are currently 14 members of the Czech Army that are being recalled as part of the Czech unit, and as they complete their service they can leave secure that because of their efforts many members of the Iraqi Army are well trained in the Artillery and Armored field.
?They have given us many hours of brave service, we have learned and grown as a military force because of our friends in the Czech Republic, we will not soon forget their expertise and assistance in opening new educational and training courses,? said Iraqi Army Colonel Ghazi.
Colonel Ghazi is the new Iraqi Army Armor School Commandant and Commanding Officer for the Iraqi Army 9th Division.
