Active Enlistment Bonus- When you enlist in the Army, depending on what job you choose, you are eligible for up to $40,000 dollars. Currently, the largest bonuses available in the Armed Forces are available in a combination of bonuses available when you join the Army. When you choose to join the Army Reserve, you are even eligible for up to $20,000 dollars for qualified candidates. There are also other types of bonuses available when you join the Army. If you have certain amounts of Education you can qualify for an education bonus when you join the Active Duty or Reserve Army as well. If you have a Bachelors degree, or a 4-year college degree you are eligible for an $8,000 dollar bonus. This is in addition to other enlistment bonuses you may qualify for. You can earn a $7,000 bonus for a two year or associates level degree. Those enlistment candidates who have 60 credit hours toward a college degree can earn $6,000 dollars toward an enlistment bonus, while 30 or more college credits will earn you a $3,000 dollar bonus.

Civilian Skills bonuses- Skills such as foreign language specialties, certification in animal care, or X ray certification are types of jobs and skills that can pay a bonus when you join the Army. Such job skills will make you often eligible for a $5,000 dollar bonus. If you speak a foreign language in high demand, such as a Middle Eastern language, you can receive a bonus in some situations up to $15,000 dollars. If you join the Army and later attend OCS then you can sometimes qualify for a bonus of up to $10,000 dollars. You have to attend and successfully complete OCS to be eligible for this bonus.
