Ammunition is one of the most important things you can have on the battlefield. Without it you are wholly unprepared for the enemy forces you will be facing. Of course, in order to work properly the ammunition being used has to be safe and has to be inspected and store properly. This is why in the United States Army all ammunition is received, handled and inspected by an ammunition specialist to ensure it will work properly and that the soldiers using it will remain safe.

It of the utmost importance that you know exactly what you are doing when you are handling and inspecting ammunition for the United States Army. This is why you will go through extensive training right after you go through basic training. You will go through nine weeks of advanced training in which you will learn all the different kinds of ammunition and the proper ways to inspect and handle them.

What You Will Do
When you are working as an ammunition specialist in the US Army you will be in charge of making sure that all ammunition is inspected as it is in storage, as it is handed out to troops and as it is received back.
