Coalition Officials Meet with Iraqi Security And Leadership Group
After all of the different security procedures have been implemented in the region of Fallujah, there is still a lot of different work to be done in rebuilding, and in choosing and selecting which particular projects are first on the list. Coalition leaders from Regimental Combat Team 1, 6th Marine Regiment, 3rd Battalion, Company K met recently with leaders from the Iraqi Security Forces, Iraqi Army, and Leaders from different community groups in Fallujah.
Among the different issues being looked at is the restoration of different buildings in the shopping district, as well as several different schools that need to be restored, and a water treatment station that needs more work.
Much of the construction is being paid for by funds from the Iraqi Government, which is a new development. There are still funds being provided by the Coalition, but much of the funding is now coming in from the Iraqi Government, and this is a welcome addition for the region. As the Iraqi Government is able to provide more of the funding, the pride and ownership of the region continues to rise, the citizens are learning and growing proud of their community, their villages and of their country at large.
