Military Families Have Unique Needs and Resources

The Financial success of our families at home rests largely upon how well prepared we are when deployment comes. There are specific places one can turn for professional, expert help. One of these places is the Financial Planning Association or FPA for short.
Through various access points, including the Internet, FPA offers assistance and planning for military Families via its Financial Planning Support Center. This is a National Financial Center dedicated to providing assistance and effective advice for Military Service Persons, their families and others facing deployment.
Even families based stateside can benefit from effective financial planning. Managing owns own finances and resources can be a challenge, especially at times like we find ourselves in. Their programs include:
CFP Professional: This is a program designed for by FPA for families to ask or discuss any issue of a financial nature that may be a concern. You can talk about Insurance, Banking, Social Security, or even what might happen should you become Disabled. They have specific advice tailored to situations that military families find themselves in. This can help manage your cash flow effectively.
Financial Education Materials: FPA offers several different types of brochures that talk about the vital and complicated issues faces by Today’s Military Family. The subjects include: Covering your Financial Bases, How a Financial Money Planner Can Assist You, How to Choose a Financial Advisor, Money Matters during Times of Need, Finance Management in During Wartime, and a variety of other published and helpful brochures.
Speakers The Financial Planning Association has a bureau of trained financial experts. These CFP professionals are able to meet with groups, groups of military personnel, or even in groups of military families. They conduct meetings and share information about a wide variety of subjects, talking about such things as Combat Pay and Benefits, Filing Tax Returns, and Insurance Coverage.
