Being a member of the United States Marine Corps does not mean that you have to work in a position which will have you seeing combat on a daily basis. There are many career paths which will require you to work out of bases ? both established and field bases. One such job involves helping to make sure that all personnel and officers are fed. When you work as a food service specialist in the US Marine Corps, this is exactly what you will do.
What You Will Do
When you work in this position you will be in charge of making sure that all of the personnel and the officers are able to enjoy meals throughout the day. You will be in charge of making sure that all meals are created with an eye towards making the meals as nutritious as possible. You will also need to make sure that there is enough food for everyone on base to get enough to eat without wasting any of the resources that you have at your disposal.

Get the Training
Cooking is a specialized career. You will have to go through boot camp as a member of the personnel. From this point you will go through specialized training so that you will learn how to prepare meals for hundreds of soldiers at once. Your training will continue while you are on the job so that you will be able to understand the latest trends in cooking.
Yeah, so quick question: will these cooks have to pass fitness requirements even after they complete boot camp? And will they still have physical training?
