Military TV shows have been popular ever since TV became mainstream. From the show M.A.S.H. to Jag, there has always been quite the interest in shows about the military.
This fall, four new military shows will come to network TV. These shows will all have a full military theme and provide military enthusiasts with something fun to watch. Here’s a look at the four shows coming this fall.
Valor
The CW will air the show called Valor, which has been described as a military drama/conspiracy theory show. It will provide a mystery type of show instead of the crime of the week type of structure. The story will likely last all season long.
The show has been described as follows:
Valor will test the boundaries between human desire and military discipline. It will take place on a U.S. Army base, which houses elite helicopter pilots. The drama will unfold before your eyes with flashbacks to missions that failed with some of the first female pilots. It will go into government/military secrets and personal lives of each character as the season-long plan is to actually rescue some MIA soldiers.
The Orville
Another great military show coming will be on FOX in the fall. Originally, FOX had ordered a military themed show expected to be based on the movie Behind Enemy Lines, which starred Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman in 2001. However, The Orville will be the show they put on this fall and it’s a stretch to call it a military themed show. The other show may be considered at a later date by FOX.
The Orville will feature Seth MacFarlane and will be a bit of a parody. The Orville will be a science fiction series that follows the adventures of the U.S.S. Orville. The crew will be made up of aliens and humans. The show will face the dangers of outer space, deal with issues in the work place and much more. It’s going to be a comedy and will only have a touch of a military theme to it.
SEAL Team
A widely anticipated show from CBS, SEAL Team will take a look at the professional and personal lives of some of the most elite members of the Navy SEALs. It’s one of eight new series coming to CBS this season.
Navy SEALS are so elite only one in about one million in the military is a SEAL. They are the 1% of the military, but TV and movie producers have made the public believe differently. This TV show is a fictional drama starring David Boreanaz from Bones.
The show will be about the most elite special ops forces in the world. IT will include plenty of drama, high-risk missions, impossible odds and all kinds of secrets.
The Brave
NBC will also air a military-themed TV show this fall. The Brave will take over the Monday night spot at 10pm ET after The Voice. This used to be the spot for the show For God and Country. This will be another show following a special ops squad, which will work directly with the Defense Intelligence Agency. It will also be about the Navy SEALs.
The description of this show calls it a heart-pounding journey. It will look at the world of America’s elite and most undercover military heroes as the team of analysts use advances surveillance technology during different types of missions. The Special Ops squad has an unbreakable bond and a commitment to keeping the country free. They will execute missions in some of the world’s most dangerous places.
There are several military shows coming to the TV schedule for the fall. It’s a theme that has many intrigued and maybe one or two of the shows will actually stick around for more than just a season or two.
