Security Forces Of Iraqi Government Improves Performance
Various security forces belonging to Iraq that are located throughout the country are proving the worth.
The different forces from Iraqi National Army and Iraqi National Police units are doing well at fighting criminals and terrorists, according to MNF Iraq General David Petraeus. They are doing especially well in the southern part of the country, and in different areas in and around Baghdad.
“We have seen vast improvement in their ability and their deployment, which is something that the Iraqi forces could not have accomplished a year ago,” said General Petraeus. Petraeus is the senior coalition commander in charge of all Multi National Forces in Iraq. The Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki has commanded the rapid use of thousands of Iraqi security forces that are working to confront criminal elements and illegal Militias in and around Basra.

The deployment ordered by Al-Maliki has worked well and has touched off a response in a violence spike in the areas served by these security forces. Using the violence spike the combined forces have been able to identify terrorist elements and forces that have eluded authorities up to this point.
The forces of Iraqi security have done well overall, and are proving their worth on a daily basis.
“I previously would not have predicted that the forces marshaled by Nouri Al-Maliki would have been available or would be in place to do as well as his forces are doing,” said General Petraeus. The forces have done a good job in other areas of the country fighting insurgents, and also fighting insurgents in the Basra area.
