New Students Prepare For Classes
There has been a lot of effort on the part of Coalition troops over the last year to make sure that the vocational buildings and facilities at the Village of Hope in Hawr Rajab have been restored. The village of Hawr Rajab was nearly burned to the ground a year ago by Al Qaeda who took out their anger on the citizens and residents. The coalition worked hard with Iraqi citizens earlier this year to rebuild the vocational school, and named it the Village of hope.
Now, on May 8th the first class of students has graduated. There were 42 students that learned construction and plumbing, electrical and vocational skills and will be able to now hopefully find gainful employment in the village or local area. The vocational program at the village of hope is aimed at helping the citizens rebuild their lives and their homes. Many of the students that sign up are from the Sons of Iraq group, and they are very motivated to rebuild.
