The United States Coast Guard is one of the few organizations which is charged with making sure that all of the Nation?s coastlines are kept safe. They are in charge of making sure that all those in trouble will be able to get the help that they need to return to safety. What You Will Do
When you work as an aviation survival technician, you will inspect, maintain and repair all pieces of equipment used in case of an emergency. You will look at things like parachutes and flotation systems in order to make sure that they are in proper working order at all times. This will help to save lives while those on board are trying to save the lives of others.

To work in this rating, you will have to know what you are doing. This is why you will go through four months of aviation survival technician courses including such things as the fundamentals of aviation life support equipment and helicopter rescue swimmer procedures.
