The United States Navy Operates in many different countries around the world. This means that they will need supplies provided to them wherever they are if they are to hope to complete their missions. Getting everything where it needs to go in the time period in which it needs to be there can be difficult when forces are spread so wide and the fleet is constantly on the move. The job of those working in the Navy Supply Corps is to make sure all divisions get what they need when they need it.
Training the Officers
Unless you are already in the Navy, you will be able to skip basic training to work in the Navy Supply Corps. This is because you will go through the program at the Officer Candidate training School instead. You will then go through classes at the Navy Supply School in Newport, RI starting in 2011. Your training, which will last 39 weeks, will leave you fully prepared to meet your obligations.
