HIGHEST PAYING JOBS IN THE MILITARY TODAY

The military offers highly competitive pay packages alongside great benefits and lifelong experiences. Although patriotism and a longing to do something bigger than oneself are reasons why people join the military, some join because of the remuneration. The rates are fair and increase over time as personnel become more skilled, serve longer and take up helpful courses.

Those who make the highest amounts in the military also have transferable skills that will come in handy if they decide to work outside the military. This article discusses the highest-paying jobs in the military.

  1. Air Crew Officers

Aircrew officers are also called flight instructors in the civilian setting. Their job is crucial because they perform and direct in-flight duties for search and rescue missions, surveillance, etc. In addition, they are responsible for controlling numerous military operations and assignments. Aircrew officers with 20 years of experience under their belt can earn up to $80,000 annually.

2. Command and Control Center Officers

As their titles suggest, they are in charge of controlling and managing critical communication channels between ground, air, and naval forces. They also are responsible for coordinating emergency response services. These officers earn an average annual salary between $76,250 to $130,420, depending on their job description. 

3. Special Forces Officers

These highly skilled officers have undergone numerous rigorous training to get their skills. As a result, they are physically fit and are highly intelligent. They work in top-notch teams to carry out search and rescue missions, raids, counterterrorism, and demolition. These officers can earn an average of $76,250 annually.

4. Artillery and Missiles Officers

They are on the list of most dangerous jobs in the military because they may have to direct the operation and maintenance of intercontinental ballistic missiles, field artillery, nuclear munitions, fire control, and weapons security. Generally, they manage operations, weapons, and service personnel. These officers can earn approximately $76,270 annually.

5. Aircraft Launch and Recovery Officers

Without these officers, aircraft systems will be a total disaster. They are responsible for planning and directing the operation and the maintenance of control, hydraulic and mechanical systems, arresting gear, and maintenance of catapults. All these are necessary during takeoff or landing. Aircraft launch and recovery offers can make $70,000 annually.

6. Armored Assault Vehicle Officers

Armored Assault Vehicle Officersare responsible for

  • Directing the operations of light armor
  • Amphibious assault vehicle units
  • And tanks on land or water during combat

To the Bureau of Labor Statistics, armored assault vehicle officers make about $53 520 per year.

7. Healthcare Personnel

Healthcare includes those in the military’s dental, medical, and pharmacy services. They ensure military personnel is fit to perform their duties all year round. Some healthcare personnel can earn a whopping $121,500 a year.

As you have seen, the highest paying jobs in the military have intelligent, fit, and disciplined personnel with years of experience and an eye for discernment. They often require a college degree and a zeal to learn and improve oneself.
