A Start for Women
The first women in the United States Coast Guard started much the same as women in other branches of the US Military Forces. They were given menial tasks and made to feel special. During war efforts women were given more responsibility for preparation of military supplies and the arsenals which would be used by those actually in conflicts.

The Current Advancements
These days, you can see women working right alongside men in many of the positions which have not historically been given to women. Everything from pilots to gunner positions have been filled by these brave women of the US Coast Guard. There are positions which women are still encouraged to fill in opposition to women, but these jobs are also starting to be more integrated with men seeking to fill the assignments as well. I would like to know the age limit on entering the service
Soon there will be no distinction? I was in the Navy 10 years ago and we could do anything anyone else could do. There’s no distinction now. When was this article written? 1970?
